How Countertops Chesapeake Works
Countertops Chesapeake measures, templates and installs quartz, granite, quartzite, marble and outdoor countertops for kitchens, bathrooms and patios in Chesapeake and across South Hampton Roads, including Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Suffolk.
A typical job is replacing worn laminate, tile or dated granite in homes that already have good cabinets. The order of steps matters more than anything else on a countertop job. A slab is cut to fit the cabinets it will sit on, so we check those cabinets first: are they level, are they square to the wall, can they carry the weight of stone? A full kitchen of 3 cm stone weighs hundreds of pounds, and a cabinet that racks or sags will crack it.
After the first visit you get a written quote that lists the material, the square footage, the edge profile, each cutout (sink, cooktop, faucet holes), removal of the old tops, and anything that needs a plumber or electrician. Nothing is ordered or cut until you approve it in writing.
How we work
- A free on-site visit to measure, check the cabinets and talk through materials.
- A precise template made after the cabinets are in place and level, not from a rough tape measurement.
- You approve the slab, the seam locations and the overhangs before fabrication.
- Old tops are removed and hauled away on install day when that is in the quote.
- Sinks and faucets are reconnected in their existing locations; moving plumbing or adding circuits is planned around the permits Virginia's building code requires.
- Care instructions for your specific material, including sealing schedules for natural stone.
